The medallion is the work of Roberto Bompiani (Rome 1821 - 1908) who frescoed the ceiling and side walls of San Lorenzo in Lucina in Rome, where the Lovatti Chapel is located.

The famous Roman architect Giuseppe Valadier (1762-1839) lived in this building during the first decades of the nineteenth century, and died there on 1 February 1839.
